Cultivation of Anabena variabilis, Synechococcus elongatus, Spirulina platensis for the production of C-Phycocyanin, C-Phycoerythrin and Thalassiosira, Skeletonema, Chaetoceros for fucoxanthin

چکیده

The pigments are vital parts of photosynthetic machinery in algae and exhibit a myriad applications as nutraceuticals, cosmetics, colorants, which find huge many industires, including the paint industry paper industry. antimicrobial, antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer potential microalgal contribute towards their varied industrial applications. In this study, (Fucoxanthin, C-phycocyanin, C-phycoerythrin), extracted from microalgae were investigated to check antimicrobial efficacy using agar well diffusion disc methods against pathogenic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli. fucoxanthin pigment isolated diatom Thalassiosira sp. exhibited highest antibacterial activity (17 ± 1.53 mm) contrast Chaetoceroes bactericidal coli (18 1). extract Spirulina plantesis showed E. (41 0.3) S. elongatus also high (32 0.5) while Anabaena variabilis (34 0.5). is highly valuable further extensive studies can elaborate underlying mechanisms.
